Continuous pharmaceutical production
A product batch is as large as we define it.
The manufacture of pharmaceuticals using continuous production methods is economical, space-saving and energy-efficient. However, it must be ensured that all requirements with regard to reproducibility and validability are met, in particular with regard to consistently high product quality.
Reproducible product quality
Moistened powder active ingredient is pressed through radial holes in the die by a press roll. This creates product strands on the outer circumference of the die, which either break by centrifugal force or are cut to a defined length.
Schlüter ring die extruders have several key advantages over other systems:
- Gentle processing of especially sensitive products due to the synchronization of die and pan grinder
- Low heat input into the product
- The process is based on lower product moisture
- Optimal connection to the subsequent Schlüter Spheronizer
